I purchased this converter to go with my second Lamy Safari. I found that this newer version is great. The material they used for the clear plastic seems to be different than the converter I purchased around a year ago. I think this since I find that when using the same ink between them the new converter does NOT allow the ink to stick to its sides. This means that when using the viewing window on the side of my Lamy the ink sticks together and I can actually see the ink level, as opposed to just seeing the ink smeared on the sides as I do with my old converter. Way to go Lamy on the small yet appreciated improvement!

with this you can refill and refill and refill your lamy pen over and over again. its best bro. very very good
I have had no problems with the converter leaking or not working properly. It is a great addition to my Lamy Safari fountain pen, allowing me to use any ink I like. Plus, refilling is a lot cheaper than going through cartridge after cartridge so the investment up front (on the cartridge and a good bottle of ink) will save a lot of money in the long run.
I’ve had this converter for my Lamy Safari – in perpetual use – for nine years, and it’s still going strong. Doesn’t leak or anything, and there’s something nice about refilling your own pen. If you’ve got a Lamy, I’d definitely recommend getting this to go with it.
I’ve had this converter for years for my Lamy Safari. Can’t imagine doing it any other way. I need durable, waterproof, lightfast, archival ink. Love it with Noodler’s Bulletproof Black.
I purchased this for use in my Lamy Safari Fountain Pen, and I am pleased with it. I haven’t had any issues with leaks or problems filling it. I would recommend it.
Very easy to use, not messy at all, smooth action, fits with my Lamy Safari perfectly. I imagine it would work best with wide short bottles – filling from a tall, skinny bottles with low ink levels can be tricky but that’s not a reflection on the converter itself. Highly recommend!
Don’t keep using cartridges. Use the converter. The best ink I’ve found is Noodler’s Ink. Black. Dries fast. Permanent. Very black. Works great with my Lamy Safari. Google it.
Don’t buy cartridges, get this! Each “charge” doesn’t last as long as a the cartridge (maybe 50-75% as long) but cost and quality win outright. You can use whatever ink you like. You can refill whenever you need or like. Hard not to like really. No-brainer for me. Lamy should sell pens with these already installed IMO.
100% leak free. Great seal, works flawlessly and is somehow elegant despite being a tiny plastic tube. When refilling it can get a few air bubbles, but I’ve found that the slower the plunger is raised the less air bubbles will result (this may be the ink that I’m using being less viscous than usual). Overall a great purchase, I love being able to use my own ink in my Lamy Safari. Also, because of how simple this converter is, it is quite easy to clean.
