Lamy Safari Converter Z24

The converter works very well, though I still use cartridges for the pens that travel in my handbag. I keep the converter in the LAMY that stays at home. If the converter holds up for ,say, 6 to 12 months, with no leaks, then I try it on-the-go – which is the real goal of the Safari pen. (I have two because the Safari is one of my favorite pens- lightweight, good tactile experience of pen to paper, and smooth ink flow.)

My husband loves Lamy Safari fountain pens and he always purchases a converter to refill with bottled ink. The refill process is easy, clean and economical, and he highly recommends the converters for fountain pen users.

The converter good in time and everything was functional. It was also as described so no problems there. It works fine and I’ve been using it constantly for over a month now.

This thing does exactly what it says it does. It lacks proper instructions, so at first I thought I had to fill it before putting it into the pen. You can actually install this into your pen before filling, then just dip your nib into the ink and twist the plunger up. It sucks it right up through the nib; nifty! A quick wipe down with some blotting paper to absorb the ink and you’re good to go! (I use note cards as blotting paper since they’re cheap as dirt and super absorbent. I don’t know if thats bad practice or anything, but it works for me)

Not much to say, does exactly what it says. A must for anyone using this type of fountain pen, no need to buy those pesky cartridges.

This allows you to refill your pen anytime without having little plastics tubes laying around everywhere. Lamy ink works best in them because it actually seems to be the best ink and it is so much more affordable than buying the little plastic ink cartridges.

I have a couple of these to go with my Lamy Safari fountain pens. They work very easily and come with a little instruction sheet showing you how to lock the converter in place. I’ve used these with my Lamy Safari fountain pens and Noodler’s bulletproof inks, and they’ve always worked well. Since this currently isn’t an item that is sold under Prime, you might want to get a few of these if you plan to get more Lamy pens in the future since shipping can be comparatively costly for the price of the item. Edited 12/2010 to add: Currently, seller Pen Boutique IS offering this item with free shipping. They are a proven seller that I’ve had several good experiences with both directly and through Amazon. I would recommend you purchase from them if Amazon Prime is not offering this item.

Fits my Lamy Safari perfectly, just make sure you put the plunger in the down position by turning red knob, before trying to draw ink into the pen.

Pros: does not leak, allows me to use Noodles ink (which is a great mfg of ink) and easy to use and install. Cons: does not hold as much ink as a cartridge so I end up refilling it about once a week or so. All in all, I like it and have been using it for 2 months now with no problems. I have no reason to go back to cartridges, so I will keep using it!
