Pilot Precise V5 Stick Rolling Ball Pen, Micro Point, 7 Assorted Barrel/Ink Colors, 7 per Pack (26015)

I’ve been using these Pilot V5 pens for probably about 15 years, and just love them. I use them mostly when grading my students’ papers since they write in a nice fine, precise line — and don’t leave marks on my hands when my hand is resting on the paper! They also last a long time, and are good down to the very end of the ink. They never blot and hardly ever smear, and they make it easy to write in tight spaces on a page. The fun colors they come in are also great. Since I don’t like to use red pens when grading essays, I love that I can use fun colors like purple, pink, and green, and my students always comment on how much they like it that I don’t use red. I hope that Pilot never discontinues these!

I conducted a Great Pen Review a few months ago, in which I purchased a 12-pack of the following 0.5mm pens and distributed them to friends and family for evaluation: Pilot Precise V5 Stick Rolling Ball Pen, Micro Point, 0.5 mm, Black Barrel/Ink (35334), 12-Count Pentel EnerGel Liquid Gel Pen, Fine Needle Tip, Blue Barrel, Black Ink, Box of 12 (BLN15-A) Pilot G2 Retractable Gel Ink Roller Ball Pen, Extra Fine Point, Clear Barrel, Black Ink, 12-Count (31002) uni-ball 207 Retractable Micro Point Gel Pens, 12 Black Ink Pens(61255) Sharpie Pen Fine Point Pen, 12 Black Pens (1742663) The overall favorites were definitely the V5 and the EnerGel. The EnerGel was generally preferred by those who liked a higher ink flowrate, while the V5 was preferred by those who liked a lower flowrate. First impressions of the Uniball 207 were quite good, but occasionally these pens drew the ire of my reviewers when they stopped writing seemingly randomly with large volumes of ink still remaining. The Sharpie pen, while better than expected, feels like a marker (because it is) and doesn’t have wide appeal.

these are my most fav pens after staedtler and papermate! they don’t bleed through.. perfect to take notes. i’m def buying again soon as mine runs out :-)

These are the best pens on the market. fact. Why else would I order 30+ pens from Amazon when I live in Manhattan and have a Duane Reade and a Walgreens within a 3 block radius? Simple, because these pens are worth it. I have been studying for my CFA exam, and I was missing something, wasn’t able to concentrate correctly. Good old Pilot has fixed it. Worth every penny. Note that I usually go with the blue now, when I was younger I went with the black, but I prefer the blue as it provides a contrast from written text. I did buy the combo pack and have liked what I’ve seen from such colors as purple and aquamarine.

I LOVE these pens. I’ve used red ones every day work for almost 2 years, and blue ones for over 3. I have everyone I work with hooked on them. They write smoothly, and easily (important for me – I have carpal tunnel syndrome), and the smaller barrel is a great factor. They will write on almost any kind of paper, even tissue-thin self-carboning paper. They rarely skip, and won’t clog or dry out, even if you leave the cap off all day. I prefer the V7 to the V5, but the V7 doesn’t come in all the same colors, so I have both. I use up at least 1 V7 red pen every 4 weeks or so. The colors stay bright even 4 weeks after I write on something.
